Clonmel Chamber has today (09/07/12) urged businesses to take advantage of the latest call for proposals from the Seventh Framework Programme, worth €8.1 billion, which can be drawn down by successful applicants from any EU country from the educational, research, private and public sectors during 2013.
Speaking this afternoon, Brian Cleary, Clonmel Chamber Chief Executive said, “This is a huge opportunity for Irish business. To date, Irish applicants have drawn down €384 million under FP7. Research and innovation are already playing a key role in our economic recovery and this figure could grow significantly next year. EU supports like this can make a big difference to companies operating in these areas and allow them to create sustainable jobs. SMEs make up 75% of those who have secured FP7 funding. While we have had a lot of success, Ireland and Irish SMEs can do even better in this call. Applicants can also avail of an information booklet produced by Clonmel Chamber and the Chambers Ireland network called Innovating Your Future: A Smarter Business Guide to EU Funding for Innovation. Chambers Ireland produced this guide in 2011 as part of the Communicating Europe Initiative,” Cleary concluded.
