May Is SME Month

Article Added: 2012/04/11

May is ‘SME Month’ for Clonmel companies.  The initiative, devised by Clonmel Chamber, aims to highlight ways that SME’s can heighten efficiency, lower costs and increase revenue.  The seminars and events will take place in a number of locations throughout Clonmel and all, except one training course, are free to Chamber members.

“No business can ignore the need to examine new ways of working and events such as ‘Lean, Beyond the Factory Floor’ are examples of how we will be outlining to local SME’s how they can implement small changes to yield big results” said Clonmel Chamber President Tina Mulhearne.

Events in ‘SME Month’ include an energy awareness event that will give attendees the option to avail of a free SEAI energy assessment and advice service, a joint event between the nine Chambers in the region focusing on innovation for service based businesses and a collaboration with LIT Clonmel for a social media event.

‘Pro-Tips’ will aim to highlight how businesses can utilise their social media at a higher level. “Too many businesses have joined Facebook or Twitter and waited for great things to happen.  The focus of the ‘Pro-Tips’ event is to show people efficient ways of maintaining a presence and driving traffic to their businesses.  This will be a very practical event focusing on two areas ‘How do you do it?’ and ‘How do you know it is working?’ said Maggie O’Brien, Network Manager at the Social Media Skillnet based in Clonmel Chamber.

‘SME Month’ events with the exception of the County Tipperary Skillnet time management course are all free.  For further details about these events visit www.clonmelchamber.com
