Jerry Kennelly, one of Ireland’s best known and most successful entrepreneurs will join the panel of speakers appearing at The National Enterprise Conference in Clonmel on September 30th. The event hosted by Clonmel Chamber will be held at the Clonmel Park Hotel from 8.30am until 3.00pm.
In 1996 Jerry Kennelly founded Stockbyte, a company that supplied stock photographs in digital form to newspapers and magazines around the world. By enthusiastically embracing new technology as it emerged, Kennelly developed a delivery system for high-quality digital imagery. In 2005, Kennelly founded Stockdisc to cater for the volume end of the creative market. By 2006, Stockbyte and Stockdisc had captured ten percent of the global, royalty-free stock photography market. The companies were sold to Getty Images in 2006 for over €110 million.
Jerry Kennelly has been recognised by the Deloitte Fast 50 Awards and was selected as the Ernst & Young Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year in 2005. His company Stockbyte is a former winner of the DHL Exporter of the Year Award.
“We are delighted to be able to add Jerry to the line up at this stage” said Clonmel Chamber CEO, Brian Cleary. “He has been keen to speak at the event and we have worked together over the last number of months to make it happen. Jerry’s new business Tweak.com takes him all over the world and we are delighted that he has been able to alter his schedule to come to Clonmel for The National Enterprise Conference” he added.
He joins Nicola Byrne (11890), Minister Phil Hogan TD (Minister for the Environment and Local Government), Michael Keating (Metron Nanotech), John Mullins (Bord Gais), Ed O’Donnell (O’Donnell’s Crisps), Micheál Martin TD (Leader of Fianna Fail), Andrea Pappin (former director of The European Movement), Brian Purcell (TV3’s Apprentice) and John Whelan (Irish Exporters Association) on the speaker line-up.
