Clonmel Chamber CEO Brian Cleary has been elected to serve as Chairman of South East Chambers for the coming year. The organisation represents the nine largest Chambers in the south east of Ireland.
Brian Cleary succeeds Eric Barron from County Wexford who served as Chairman for several years.
“I was delighted to be nominated and elected to the position. Clonmel Chamber was one of the founders of the regional body in 1970 and we have been active members ever since. I hope that in my current position and as Chairman of the South East Chambers that I can deliver tangible results for Clonmel” said Mr. Cleary.
South East Chambers meet quarterly to formulate and enact policies to improve business life in the region. The most recent success was the creation of the Access: South East report in late 2010.
“I’m looking forward to hosting the Summer 2011 South East Chambers meeting in Clonmel and demonstrating to my colleagues the diverse range of industry, retail and service based businesses that we have here in Clonmel” said the newly elected Chairman.
