Clonmel Chamber is embarking on an ambitious membership drive to attract new members. The business group, now in its eighty sixth year, has been one of the most active Chambers in Ireland for several years.
The membership drive will see non members throughout Clonmel invited to avail of a trial membership for a period of two months. During this time local businesses availing of the trial will be able to attend free networking and training events along with fully subscribed members of the group. They will also be able to access member only discounts.
“Clonmel Chamber has been very good at promoting the town and its members but we have never really highlighted what we can do for local businesses” said Tina Mulhearne, President of the organisation. “We are one of the only Chambers in Ireland providing 12 free networking events each year for members. These have been very successful and have definitely created new opportunities for those who have attended” Tina added.
The Chamber was recently nominated for an Ulster Bank Business Achiever Award for their work in promoting business in Clonmel.
“We were the only Chamber in Ireland shortlisted for these awards. What we do best is to help people do business with other people” said Chamber CEO Brian Cleary. “At the moment a lot of business owners can’t see the wood for the trees. Our organisation offers peer support and a forum for discussing current issues and exploring new opportunities. Clonmel needs a strong Chamber. It enables us to have an increased input into local and national government decisions that have an impact on every business” he added.
One of the first events being hosted by the organisation during this trial period is a free 90 minute customer service master-class in association with Failte Ireland. The free event will be held at Hotel Minella on February 24th at 6.15p.m. Pre-booking is essential.
