Relatives thinking of sending presents home for Christmas home to Clonmel now have a new way of giving a gift to their loved ones while helping the local economy. Clonmel Shopping Vouchers are now also available online. The scheme, created and managed by Clonmel Chamber, has been hugely successful to date with vouchers being sold at the Chamber, The Book Centre, Easons and Clonmel Credit Union. The Chamber decided to offer the vouchers for sale online earlier this year following requests from Clonmel exiles in the USA, Germany, the UK and other countries.
“Finding the right present, getting it posted and wondering if it has arrived in one piece has always been a worry for those living abroad who send presents at Christmas. We have eliminated that worry by allowing them to buy vouchers specific to Clonmel. They are a nice present to receive and they are also helping to support local jobs” said Chamber CEO Brian Cleary
The vouchers are available through the Chamber’s website www.clonmelchamber.com and the purchasing process is simple and secure.
Chamber President Tina Mulhearne added “when we receive an order for vouchers our staff pack the order and post the vouchers to the recipient on the same day. It is a very simple process and it totally eliminates worry surrounding sending presents from abroad”.
The organisation will be promoting the scheme with Irish groups in the UK, USA, Australia and in other territories. They will also be targeting Irish community websites around the world. “Clonmel people have travelled and settled in all corners of the earth and we hope that they will consider the vouchers as a gift for friends and relatives back home this Christmas” added the Chamber President.
