Chamber Begins Meetings With Local Reps

Article Added: 2010/09/07

Clonmel Chamber met with South Tipperary T.D. Tom Hayes earlier this week as part of their meetings with elected representatives. During the meeting the delegation from the Chamber outlined their members concerns regarding rates, access to finance and other issues. The Chamber delegation stressed to Deputy Hayes the need for all political parties to work together to ensure that the flow of credit to viable businesses increases.

“This is one of many meetings that we will be holding with elected representatives in the run up to the budget and the drafting of both borough and county council rates. The issue of rates is a particular concern to many of our members and we stressed to Deputy Hayes that there needs to be a reduction in rates for the coming year. We felt that it was productive and we hope that Deputy Hayes will take on board the concerns of the business community in Clonmel” said Chamber CEO, Brian Cleary.
