Clonmel Chamber To Launch Three Year Plan

Article Added: 2010/03/31

Clonmel Chamber's three year strategic plan will be launched at the organisation's AGM in April.

The plan, devised by the executive and board of the organisation covers issues regarding the strategic development of the organisation and the business life of the town.

Key issues in the plan are the development of Clonmel as a retail and tourist destination, the importance of maintaining and creating jobs locally and lobbying for the development of essential infrastructure projects.

The development of the local tourism offering is also a key component to the strategic plan.

Issues relating to the development of the Chamber include developing the member base, the suite of services offered to members and a comprehensive revision of Chamber operations and its interaction with the business community.

The newly re-launched Chamber website, ClonmelChamber.com is seen as a key strand in teh development of the organisation.  Developments in this sphere include plans to see Clonmel Chamber Shopping Vouchers online, a webpage with secure login for each member to highlight their business, a property and jobs listing section for member businesses and a vastly increased stream of news and event information.

As part of the strategic plan the Chamber is working to maintain and develop jobs locally.

"Building on in house experience of our CEO, Brian Cleary, as an experienced executive in the recruitment sector in both Ireland and the UK and indeed my own as a HR specialist with my own company HR Direct, we intend to utilise these skills to promote the availability of jobs, seek to fill them and highlight opportunities with member companies.  Part of this is the listing of jobs on our website which we hope, in the course of the 3 year plan, to spin off into a specific 'ClonmelJobs' website.  When practical we will hold careers/jobs fairs or attend others if possible.  Clonmel is a town with many strength and our current low unemployment rate is unique in the south east.  We want to work to reduce that even further" said Chamber President Tina Mulhearne.

Companies with vacant properties or vacancies to list can email info@clonmelchamber.com to have them listed on the Chamber website for free.

Each member of the Chamber will receive copies of the plan by email and through the post in the coming days.  If you would like a copy please contact Clonmel Chamber on 052 61 26500.
