Clonmel Chamber of Commerce is hosting its first ‘Doing Business In..’ event on Thursday, March 11th at 6.15pm in the Clonmel Park Hotel. The Chamber has teamed up with the Canadian embassy to look at opportunities in the North American market for local companies.
“This is an ideal time to explore new markets, particularly in light of the downturn in the economy” said Clonmel Chamber President Tina Mulhearne. “This market offers Clonmel and Irish companies the chance to sell into one of the biggest markets in the world. The event is also a perfect opportunity for businesses in the tourism and service sector to investigate potential ventures in Canada” she added.
Brian Cleary, CEO of Clonmel Chamber believes that this is an ideal chance for businesses to speak with experts from the embassy. “Suzanne Cormie, the Senior Trade Commissioner for Canada in Ireland, will be there and she will be able to answer any questions that Chamber members might have about exporting to or importing from Canada. 900 Irish companies export to the USA every year, yet only 200 export to Canada. This is a market with immense potential for our members” said the CEO.
This is the first of a number of similar events that Clonmel Chamber hopes to host in conjunction with embassies. Tickets for ‘Doing Business in Canada’ are available at www.clonmelchamber.com or by calling Clonmel Chamber on 052 61 26500.
